How do you envision your teaching changing over the next five years?
This is a tough one. Five years ago, I had hoped for a chance to move out of younger elementary and into a position working with older students. I am finally working with my preferred age group and I love it. I am currently working on my degree in Educational Administration. While I do not think I will become a Principal in the next 5 or even 10 years, I am open to any new opportunities that might come my way. I enjoy working creatively to solve problems and I having a job that is fun and rewarding. My current job allows me a lot of autonomy in the classroom--something that I absolutely love. But if I'm being honest, the schedule is SO challenging. If I could create a perfect teaching opportunity for myself, it would probably involve teaching art part time, writing or photography part time, and traveling part time. This is a dream in my own mind, because nothing like that probably really exists anywhere, but over the next five years I would like to work towards something like that. In the classroom, I imagine that I will have some favorite projects that I will continue to include into my lesson plans, but I will weed out the ones that are too messy or too hard for students. This post is part of the 30-day blogging challenge for teachers. |
